Lance is owner and president of Buhrman Design Group, A Northern Illinois landscape contracting company. His love of all things outdoors and his thirst for learning about living things shaped his career path. In his youth, he worked with race horses and later in life he owned quarter horses. Realizing he did not want to teach horses in the disciplines he learned with race horses, he studied “Natural Horsemanship” a discipline he applied when he started training hunting dogs. He has two Wirehaired Pointing Griffons and learned of this breed through a dear friend. Upon acquiring a “griff,” he joined NAVHDA and learned a new discipline of dog training. This skill along with his past horse experiences allowed him a better understanding of animal behaviors. Lance enjoys most types of hunting and spends as many days afield as time allows. He looks forward to days of retirement and time spent teaching grandchildren and others about the world of all living creatures. Lance believes giving back is important in life and works with several conservation and charitable organizations.
